Food Technology involves physical, chemical or microbiological techniques and processes for transforming raw ingredients into consumable or eatable food and also other forms in food processing industry.
Food processing refers to transforming the raw food material into edible food or converting food into other edible food forms. BE/B.Tech in Food Technology is a 4-year program. Food processors or automated machines typically take clean, fresh, harvested crops or butchered animal products and use them to form attractive, palatable, marketable food products with longer shelf-life. You can continue M.Tech in Food Technology stream after successful completion of BE/B.Tech. Though Food Science, Food Engineering and Food Technology are very overlapping, there are few subtle differences.

CFTRI: Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) Entrance Exam: conducts exam for admission into M.Sc Food Technology Course by the CFTRI, Mysore.
IICPT: Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology Entrance Exam.
AIJEE: All India level Joint Entrance Exam, conducted for students to join into the B.Tech course in Food Technology and Biochemical Science. The candidates must qualify the state Joint Entrance Exams (JEE) or the All India Joint Entrance Exam (AIJEE) for joining the course or GATE.
